How to Set Up IPTV on Samsung Smart TV

Step-by-step guide to watching IPTV on Samsung Tizen TVs using Smart STB or IPTV Smarters.

Introduction

Samsung Smart TVs run Tizen OS, which is different from LG's webOS. The Samsung app store (Samsung Apps) has limited IPTV options, but Smart STB works well and is easy to set up.

What You Need

  • Samsung Smart TV (2016 or newer recommended)
  • Your TV's MAC address
  • Your StreamProTV credentials

Find Your Samsung TV MAC Address

  1. Press Home (house icon) on your Samsung remote
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon)
  3. Select GeneralNetworkNetwork Status
  4. Click IP Settings
  5. Note the MAC Address shown

Method 1 – Smart STB (Recommended)

Step 1: Install Smart STB

  1. Press Home on your Samsung remote
  2. Open the Apps section from the home screen
  3. Use the search function (magnifying glass) to find Smart STB
  4. Click Install and wait for it to complete

Step 2: Set Up Your IPTV

  1. Open Smart STB — you will see the device MAC address on screen
  2. On your phone or computer, open smartstb.net/app
  3. Enter the MAC address shown on your TV
  4. Add your playlist:
    • Click Add Playlist
    • Enter your M3U URL from the welcome email
  5. Name it StreamProTV and save
  6. Back on your TV, select your playlist profile
  7. Your channels will load — enjoy!

Method 2 – IPTV Smarters Pro (Tizen)

  2. Install and open it
  3. Select Add New UserXtream Codes API
  4. Enter your server URL, username, and password
  5. Tap Add User

Tips for Samsung TVs

Tip: If you have a 2015 or older Samsung TV, neither Smart STB nor IPTV Smarters may be available. In this case, plug in a Fire TV Stick or Android box for full IPTV support.

Note: Samsung TVs work best connected via Ethernet cable to your router. Go to SettingsNetworkWired Connection to set this up.

Tip: Set your TV's DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS) if channels are slow to load. This often improves stream loading times significantly.
